011-2012
N. S. C. A. R. will raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation.   These funds will go towards the building of a
new Fisher House that still needs donations at the time of National Convention April 2012.  There are 16
Fisher Houses that are currently in the planning, design, or construction phase.

I would like to further involve the members in the project, by allowing the membership at National
Convention to decide which house our money would go towards.   All the houses are important and I think
leaving the exact location open allows for a more far-reaching scope to the project.   The members would then
also get to have a role in choosing the project in away that they haven't in the past.

Though we would be raising funds for a new house, a heavy focus throughout the year would be placed on
volunteering with local Fisher Houses that are currently in operation.  60% of our local societies are in a
state with a Fisher House.  Through volunteer hours and donating items such as books, toys, and food,
C.A.R.could have a major impact on military families throughout the nation.
"Living the American Dream"
Our forefathers had a dream for America that they thought
was worth risking their lives for. What better way to honor
their dream, than by supporting those who defend that
dream today?

The C.A.R. Creed states "I believe in the Children of the
American Revolution, as an organization for the training of
young people in true patriotism and love of country, in
order that they shall be better fitted for American
citizenship".  I believe the best way to encourage this
"patriotism and love of country" is to support those in our
military, and their families, who exemplify these values.

The Fisher House Foundation recognizes the importance of
family in the healing process and I know that our C. A. R.
family are great supporters of their cause.   With all that
the brave men and women of our military do for this
country, I am sure you would agree it is the least we can do
to support them, and their families, in their time of need.

The men and women of our Armed Forces have a dream for
what this country should be and are risking their lives to
defend it.   It is my dream that N. S. C. A. R. will support
them.   Thanks to the brave men and women of our Armed
Forces, we are able to be "Living the American Dream"
today.
